Ahh, it’s the crazy old gold prospector. He came to Patoka in 1857 lookin’ fer “swamp gold” but then he found out it was just a local name for crocodile droppings. After loosing his mind in a freak swamp accident that drove off the rest of the village, the old man continues to haunt the abandoned streets of Patoka still dreaming of his golden “precious”.
Can’t wait till he gets to the flooded city of Kankakee. Jerry is the mayor of Kankakee, ask him.

I suppose you might want to know that the word “patoka” in Russian and some other Slavic languages means “molasses”. Perhaps, they grow sugar cane in the village of Patoka?
