Holy crap… WE DID IT!
Man, I really don’t know how to put it into words… The Eisner is something I’ve always wanted, but really never thought I’d have. To win it for something that I made up on my own… It’s too great for me to describe. I am truly thankful, appreciative, and humbled by all of the support we’ve received since we started this silly thing. Thank you so, so much.
I was nervous on stage, so I’ll take this spot to really give some credit where it’s due. Allen and Crank are the best. They put up with a lot and are the real reason this comic gets done. Brion Salazar actually built this site so thank him for it looking’ pretty. Thanks to all of my buddies at 4 Star Studios. They’re pretty much my family, and their encouragement was essential to this happening. The great people at Dark Horse are pretty important too! Patrick, Jim, Scott and of course, Mr. Richardson let me print my book there. They’re good people, and I’m excited to do more with them. And obviously, my long suffering girlfriend Julie should get a big “thank you”. She’s the best.
And now a goofy picture of Allen and I at the ceremony.
Spread the word, won't you?

Congrats again on the Eisner! (I commented on the FB page the other day)
So now the Kinmundian knows the name of hies enemy…I sense an alliance with Sasha.
Congratulations on the Eisner!
Gotta say, Catwulf’s choice of destructive animalia is frickin’ wonderful. I wanna see a death flamingo now.
Yep, Flamingo of Doom FTW!
CONGRATS! You really deserve it and your thanks in this entry really highlights the collaborative nature of comics, or as I called it in my pretentious days “Sequential art”.
Let’s get back to more pugs!
Da da da dam!
Congrats on the Eisner! You deserve it!
Two sexy men are always going to win the awards ;P
Congrats on the Eisner! Koala, frog pig? I want to see the giant, cute, killer versions of those!
Congrats on the Eisner! Really well deserved. I have actually only been reading your wonderful web comic for a few days now. I heard your awesome conversation of iFanboy about the Battlepug book release and decided to check out the web comic. Needless to say, I’m hooked! It’s a really great piece of work but the best thing I could say about it is that it reminds me quite a bit of Dezango and Wieringo’s Tellos. And believe me, I don’t say that lightly. Keep up the great work!
Congratulations on a well-deserved reward! I admire and enjoy your artwork, and your wonderfully wacky story line is delicious. Battlepug is my favorite, well, one of my top 3 favorite comics.
I’ve wondered how the barbarian could continue his wandering without breaking up the true love between the little orphaned sorceress and the battlepug. That would be cruel, not to say dangerous. But a previous poster has an answer – bring her and Sasha along. Catwulf is master of monster beasts; did Catwulf create battlepug? I’m eager to see how you twist this plot. And what of the lovely teller of the tale? Is she a pampered princess or a pampered prisoner locked away in her tower?
Congratulations! My Mondays are not complete without BattlePug!
Congratulations on the Eisner win! I recently discovered your web comic and it is well worth the praise it deserves. ^_^
Congrats Mike! It’s awesome to see a big talented fella and a strip with an even a bigger heart do good. Keep ‘em comin’ and we’ll read readin’.
Wow, congrats! I’ve been telling anyone who’d listen about Battlepug since Kurt Busiek tipped me off to it right as it was about to launch, and it’s cool to see that I’m not the crazy guy up on the hill ranting about something people don’t get. (Ditto for Kurt, though he might want to be the crazy guy up on the hill, so you’ll have to take that up with him.)
Best wishes on continued success!
I didn’t know comics even won those!!! amazing!!
You deserve many congrats for this! And thank you for this comic, I await it every Monday.
Congrats Mike!! I am very happy for you and your crew! Although I really miss your Billy Batson/Capt. Marvel, I think Battlepug is awesome!! Best of luck to you!
Big congrats! You totally earned and deserved it!
Congratulations.
Nice work there.
Congratulations. You’d think the Eisner would have some sort of web decal you can add to this website, no?
Also, you’d think the Eisner would have gotten better looking awards by now.
Congratulations! Well deserved!
Catwulf probably has an evil French Bulldog, that kills with its farts.
GRATS! You deserve it, this comic is one of my favorite on the net!
Congrats on the Eisner, it is well deserved!
Bravo, an award well deserved. It’s been a fun and interesting story thus far.
Also … it seems that Black Sasha and the Kimmundian now have common cause! It’s the stuff that the best hackenslash stories are made of.
